Instructions and Help about Va 8879

Hello and welcome to another Hill and Ponton video blog. I'm Matthew Hill and I'm here with Carol Ponton. Today, we'd like to talk to you about how the examiner's for the CPA exams use to rate your claim and determine if it's service-connected. What they look for is basically a boilerplate form that is used, but let me back up. CMP examiners are the doctors, nurse practitioners, and other professionals that the VA sends you to determine if your condition is related to service and what the proper rating should be. They are given disability benefit questionnaires (DBQs) and use those to determine what's going on with your case. They look at the diagnosis, the problems it causes, and if it's related to service. Today, we want to focus on back exams and what the examiners are looking for, versus what you might be discussing when you come in. So, there's a form called "back conditions" and it's a DBQ. The rest of the ratings are based on the problems and limitations noted on the form, and the effects the back causes. In order to effectively file and pursue your claim for your back, you need to make sure that the doctors know about every problem you have. This can lead to burning or tingling sensations, constant leg pain, difficulty...
